Lesson 46: Fry Sight Words: 3rd Hundred, Part 2

We are now working on the 1,000 Fry Sight Words, a set of high-frequency words that are necessary for American English reading comprehension and communication skills.  Please do your best to follow the directions below, as well as use the website translator to define any of the Fry Sight Words or related sentences you need to know better.  The more you become comfortable with the Fry Sight Words, the more fluent in American English you will become.

She sat on a park bench while waiting for her friend to arrive.

Let’s sing a song while we’re driving.

He walked on the street along the sidewalk.

If we want peace, we need to find a way to get along.

She might know where he went for lunch.

We might go to a restaurant after we watch a movie at the movie theater.

You need to stop reading and close the book.

It’s late and the restaurant will close in ten minutes.

I saw something moving in the bushes outside our house.

Let’s think of something to do so that we don’t get bored.

The English exam will seem easy after you spend some time studying for it.

They seem like a nice and happy couple.

Ok, we’re done with our job for today, but what will we do next?

The woman was next in line to enter the store.

Sometimes a simple task seems hard to do when you don’t want to do it.

She knocked hard on the door so they could hear her.

Please open the door so we can have a conversation.

The restaurant will be open in twenty minutes.

The teacher punished the cheating student to make an example out of him for the class.

Playing cards is an example of what people do when they have free time.

Let’s begin playing this game and see if we like it.

When you begin learning English, it’s important not to give up and keep going.

If you treat your life with respect, you will enjoy it more.

Life in the United States of America is not as easy as some people think.

You should always brush your teeth before going to bed at night.

You should always show respect to your parents.

They talked to those people sitting on the bench next to them.

Those magazines on the coffee table are too old and need to be replaced.

The waiter talked to both people sitting at the table.

Both of us are happy that you came to our party.

She wrote a long paper on the economy of Zimbabwe. Do we have enough paper for our laser printer?
